New safe vibration sensors from Hansford

Hansford Sensors have launched a new range of ATEX- and IEC Ex-certified, intrinsically safe vibration sensors with 4–20mA outputs, which, they claim, offer high reliability, optimum performance and long service life.

The low-cost HS-420I and HS-4221 instruments, suitable for direct use with PLC, BMS or other 4–20mA input modules, will allow maintenance engineers to monitor vibration levels of pumps, fans, compressors, motors, conveyors, drilling rigs and all types of rotating machinery which are in a potentially explosive working environment.

The HS-420I series of sensors are sealed to a minimum IP67 and can be used in Group I (Mining) applications, thanks to their stainless steel construction and ability to withstand tough operating conditions.

Hansford are offering a choice of either integral cable (eg tough braided cable, flame-retardant cable etc) or connector (eg the new M12) with the new safe vibration sensor. Waterproof options are also available for submerged use up to 100m, together with various mounting choices with threaded, magnetic and ‘Quick-Fit’ studs.
