New lightweight aggregates plant for China

PROJECT Services, a new Midlands-based project-engineering and management company specializing in the mineral-processing and handling sector, are to supply a new œ1.25 million lightweight aggregates plant to Daqing Petroleum Administration Bureau's electric power company in Daqing, north-east China.

In a bid to improve environmental efficiency, the Daqing site is looking to turn waste fly-ash, which is currently sluiced to settlement lagoons, into lightweight aggregates for a massive building and development programme in the Daqing region.

Project Services, who have considerable experience in fly-ash, slag and cement markets, will be responsible for designing the 200,000m3 a year plant, which will be based on proven sinter strand technology. The company will also provide on-site assistance with construction, commissioning and operator training.

The project will be carried out in conjunction with Waterman International (Leeds), part of Waterman Group plc, who have considerable experience of design-and-build projects in China.
