New JCB tandem roller for Scottish contractor
First Stage V-compliant JCB CT380-130 in Scotland rolls into action for McFadyens
CIVIL engineering contractors McFadyens Contractors (Campbeltown) Ltd have taken delivery of Scotland’s first JCB CT380-130 tandem roller (supplied by Scot JCB) for road surfacing and maintenance projects.
The brand-new 4.1-tonne roller is already hard at work compacting material into potholes along a narrow road linking two of the company’s hard rock quarries. The machine joins McFadyens' existing JCB compaction fleet and has been introduced alongside the CT430-140, completing JCB’s sub-5-tonne tandem roller line-up.
Company director David McFadyen said: ‘JCB rollers have proven themselves to be extremely reliable and productive machines, with great compaction technology that helps ensure smooth finishes. We are confident the new model will be even better, backed up with exceptional service support from Scot JCB.’
Powered by the latest EU Stage V diesel engine with DOC and DPF, the CT380-130 delivers a linear load of 15.8kg/cm. With a vibrating frequency of 50–60Hz, a 0.50mm amplitude, and centrifugal force of 41–59kN, the machine has been designed for ease of use, low maintenance, and robust performance.
