Bruntingthorpe Aerodrome

Biennial construction equipment exhibition relocates to Bruntingthorpe Aerodrome in Leicestershire

FOLLOWING the Construction Equipment Association’s inaugural biennial exhibition event at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire, earlier this year, the organizers have announced that Plantworx will return in 2015 at a brand new location – Bruntingthorpe Aerodrome in Leicestershire.

The 2015 exhibition, which will take place from 2–4 June, will span 135,000 square metres and use Bruntingthorpe’s ‘Indy Circuit’ (pictured) for the show. Based on the size of this year’s event, the new venue will easily accommodate the 2015 exhibition, as well as offering plenty of room for future growth.

The layout of the site, which is within easy reach of the M1, will be designed so that all exhibitors will be in a single area, with easily accessible parking for more than 10,000 vehicles on hardstandings on either side of the large and level show area.

Rob Oliver, chief executive of the Construction Equipment Association (CEA), said: Bruntingthorpe allows us to present an event in a single undivided area, which should provide both a better exhibitor and visitor experience.

‘The move to a June date also gives us an improved prospect of better weather, but fortunately all the show parking will be on hardstandings, so even if the weather does take a turn for the worse, visitors will be able to keep the mud off their tyres.

Simon Frere-Cook, Plantworx exhibition director, added: ‘I am delighted that Plantworx 2015 will be held at Bruntingthorpe. It is a very flat and open site that offers great flexibility and will serve both the exhibitors and the visitors extremely well.

‘The Bruntingthorpe team has a very good empathy with Plantworx and the construction industry in general, and I very much look forward to working with everybody to develop the event while maintaining our ethos of being ‘for the industry, by the industry’.

Starting in 2015, Plantworx will take place at the Bruntingthorpe site on a biennial basis, alternating with the well-established Hillhead show in Buxton, Derbyshire.
