New hoist and jib attachments for Bobcat telehandlers

Bobcat have launched a new range of hydraulic hoist and extension jib attachments for their telehandler range. There are two types of attachment available – hydraulic hoists rated to 3.5 tonnes or 4.0 tonnes, and 600kg and 1,000kg hydraulic hoists. Each type is combined with a 4m jib and all meet the latest ISO 430 1–1 classification - T4, L2, M4.

Designed for applications in construction, general industry and maintenance, the use of the hoist or hoist/extension jib attachments allows a telescopic handler to perform the functions of a crane, but with all the advantages of site mobility and versatility typically provided by the telehandler. Using the hoist and jib attachments, the telehandler can be used to position loads in places that are difficult to access conventionally using the boom on the telehandler alone. The hoists are indispensable for raising and lowering loads without having to move the boom, and are fitted with a proportional control system for precise positioning of the load.

The hydraulic hoists have a drop length of 24m (utilizing a total length of cable of 51m) with a cable diameter of 12mm. The cable can be let out at a maximum speed of 21.5m/min. Proper winding is ensured by a cable-pressing roller, the small rake angle with guide pulley, and a threaded drum (complying to EN-14492-2). The extra wide block prevents lines from twisting and wearing.

The hoists are available as both factory- and dealer-installed options. The hydraulic components of the hoist are protected by a cage. They are also equipped with a positive descent/ascent function. In the event of a hydraulic failure, a brake will engage to prevent the load from dropping.

A removable stand is supplied to support the hoist, keeping it clean when in storage.  For easy handling and carrying, the stand is equipped with pallet fork slots.
