New dry-screening plant from Powerscreen International

The new Chieftain 2400 is the largest dry-screening plant available to date from Powerscreen International.

Featuring direct-feed three- and two-deck screen versions, this high-capacity mobile screen offers a number of options for a wide variety of heavy-duty screening and stockpiling applications. The 2400 model tops the established Chieftain range and combines tracked mobility with fast set-up time for volume treatment of sand and gravel, coal and crushed stone.

The new model is capable of handling up to 750 tonnes/h (depending on mesh sizes and material type) and, with four product conveyors, is able to stockpile fines, mid-size and oversize materials, as well as having a return conveyor for re-routing material back to the feed crusher for secondary reduction prior to re-screening.

A high-capacity and generously proportioned hopper makes the 2400 suitable for direct feed from a crusher or loading by excavator or wheel loader. The heavy-duty, two-bearing 20 x 6 screen unit features a 10mm stroke and an adjustable screen angle. The breaker box has Hardox replaceable wearplates. The direct-drive feed conveyor with hydraulic variable-speed control features impact rollers beneath the feed boot impact point. Both the tail and crusher return conveyors are angle adjustable, with the two side conveyors folding hydraulically for minimal transport dimensions. Powerscreen also offer a roll-in bogie system to provide an alternative towable version, removing the need for a low-loader.

The Chieftain 2400 is mounted on a heavy-duty, low-ground-pressure crawler undercarriage. It is supplied with removable pendant remote control with the option of radio control if required.
