New Cat H-series wheel loaders

CATERPILLAR have introduced four new H-series small wheel loaders –– the 11.5-tonne 924H, 11-tonne 924Hz, 12.5-tonne 928Hz and 13.1-tonne 930H –– as replacements for the previous G-series models.

The new 924H and 930H models feature Caterpillar’s VersaLink loader linkage, which combines integrated tool-carrier versatility and parallel lift with faster cycle times. A high-lift VersaLink option, with or without quick coupler, is also available for special applications that require more reach and lift height, while a new multi-purpose bucket further adds to machine versatility. In addition, the 930H can be equipped with up to six hydraulic valves for maximum work-tool control and compatibility, allowing the machine to be used in the widest range of applications.

All four loaders employ a load-sensing, variable-flow hydraulic system that senses work demand and adjusts flow and pressure to match. Designed to provide faster cycle times with low operator effort and improved fuel efficiency, the system can be configured with various joystick options to suit the operator or application needs. Caterpillar also offer the option of biodegradable hydraulic oil for operations in environmentally sensitive applications.

The 924H and 930H (soon to be joined by the 924Hz) employ a new 100% fully-locking front-axle differential as standard equipment. Replacing the current limited-slip option, this generates less heat in the axle while still delivering improved traction and reduced tyre wear. The differential lock can be engaged on the move, allowing the operator complete control of the machine for optimal productivity.

All four new loaders also feature the responsive Cat C6.6 engine with ACERT technology, which meets all current emission regulations while offering more power and torque. To help reduce maintenance requirements and increase uptime, the engine also features an electric fuel-priming pump together with regular service points that are easily accessible from ground level.

The four new loaders also feature the improved H-series cab and operator station, which has been designed for ease of entry/exit and for efficient operation throughout an entire shift. The quiet, spacious cab incorporates a new ladder and door handles, and offers the operator a high level of visibility for increased comfort, safety and productivity.

In addition, the 930H is available with QuickSteer mode, which delivers higher productivity and efficiency with less operator fatigue when loading trucks by delivering full articulation with just a 50° turn of the steering wheel.
