New ADTs from Case

In June Case Construction Equipment used Hillhead 2007 to unveil their brand new line of articulated dumptrucks. Making its European debut was the Case 340B (pictured right) – the largest of the new series of four Tier III-certified ADTs with payload capacities from 23 tonnes up to 36 tonnes.

All models in the series incorporate various Case exclusives, such as lift cylinders internally mounted within the rear frame for maximum protection from damage; an integrated differential mounted directly to the transmission to maximize power to the wheels; and a long sloping front hood combined with floor-to-ceiling glass doors to provide a high degree of job site visibility.

Servicing and maintenance have been made easier with swing-out fenders and a cab that tilts 51º to provide access to key service areas, while features such as hydraulic and fluid sight gauges that are visible from ground level facilitate faster daily service checks.

Designed for operating efficiency, the Case B-Series ADTs offer a maximum travel speed of 46km/h, an 11s dump body raise and 13s return for faster cycle times, and a 68º tipping angle for smooth, controlled discharge of material from the ribless load body.

All four models have a high level of climbing ability. The 340B can manage 60% (27°) gradients, while its ±45° steering articulation provides good manoeuvrability. In addition, rear axle oscillation ensures smoother travel over rough ground for better material retention and reduced spillage.

The B-Series cab is resiliently mounted to isolate the operator from vibrations, thereby providing a smoother ride and allowing better control of the truck. Other features of the quiet, dust-free cab include: good all-round visibility, a fully adjustable seat and analogue gauges that are easy to read in all lighting conditions.
