New 360-degree vibratory screener

Kason introduce vibratory screener for wet or dry bulk solids containing large oversize fractions

A NEW vibratory screener – the K72-1K-S – which discharges oversize particles 360 degrees around the periphery of a circular screening deck, instead of through the 15–25-degree openings of conventional discharge spouts, has been introduced by screening equipment specialists Kason.

The screener, a 1,829mm diameter Vibroscreen model with an ‘External Kascade’ deck, is intended for the screening of wet or dry bulk materials containing a large percentage of oversize fractions, at higher rates than those attainable with conventional screeners.

As material is fed on to the centre of the screening deck, on-size particles pass through the screen and funnel through a lower discharge chute, while oversize particles flow outwards in a spiral pattern and cascade, at any point, over the periphery of the circular screen on to a spiral vibratory trough that directs the material into a high-capacity discharge spout.

‘Allowing oversize particles to cascade 360 degrees around the screen’s periphery, instead of through a 15 to 25-degree opening created by a conventional discharge spout, eliminates a discharge capacity restriction associated with ‘oversize’ building up around the screen circumference, resulting in higher screening efficiency, higher capacity, less chance of screen blinding and longer screen life,’ explained Kason president, Henry Alamzad.

The special screening deck is offered on any of the company’s Vibroscreen separators, ranging from 1,016 to 1,829mm in diameter, and is available as a retrofit kit for any make of circular vibratory screener.

The upper portion of the circular screen frame is tapered to reduce the diameter and weight of the dust cover for easy handling.

A range of accessories is available including clean-in-place spray heads, anti-blinding devices, articulated lids for rapid screen changes, and an automatic long-term lubrication system for gyratory motor bearings.
