More Bells for Stevens Equipment Rental

Bell L2606E wheel loader

Service, specification and standards keep equipment rental group returning to Bell Equipment UK

STEVENS Equipment Rental Ltd, formerly Peter Stevens Dumptruck Hire Ltd, have announced the further expansion of the fleet with the acquisition of several Bell Equipment articulated dumptrucks and wheel loaders, adding to a considerable number of Bell machines the company already owns.

The equipment rental group generally operates machines aged three years/10,000h or less, and specializes in the supply of market-leading equipment with the capability to perform within any given environment.

As such, Stevens’ 2013 fleet-renewal program saw the addition of a number of new machines deemed fit to meet the demanding requirements of the short- and long-term rental market.  Among the purchases were two Bell L2606E loaders, two B30D articulated dumptrucks and two B30E articulated dumptrucks.

Russell McLean, rental manager at Stevens Equipment Rental Ltd, said: ‘As a busy equipment rental firm, our equipment is really tested to its limits, whether that involves working in a quarrying, earthmoving or material handling at a port.

‘The machines we supply regularly see the full brunt of a heavy load or the intensity of a 24/7 shift pattern, so the equipment needs to be sound, high-performing and reliable. Our customers count on us to supply the most capable kit, and in turn we count on our supplier to do the same.

‘This is where Bell Equipment fits in. We introduced our first Bell articulated dumptrucks to the fleet back in 2008. Such was their performance, that we have since increased our Bell stock considerably. We’ve invested in many more Bell wheel loaders and ADTs, each with a different spec designed to excel at specific functions.’

He added: ‘The performance of each machine has been so strong, that at renewal time, we’ve replaced like with like, returning to Bell for the performance, quality and superb service.

The latest orders include two B30Es, part of the next-generation E-series that represents an evolution in Bell ADT design. The E-series builds upon the proven legacy of the successful D-series, in order to deliver production-boosting payloads, reduced daily operating costs, and superior ride quality and safety standards.

According to Mr McLean, the E-series models offer the ideal combination of new features alongside trusted elements. ‘We’re drawn to Bell’s reliability, power and fuel-efficiency, and all of these aspects are strong in the E-series ADTs, boosted by 6x6-technology and advanced engine design.’

Bell Equipment UK managing director Nick Learoyd said: ‘Stevens Equipment Rental are not only a long-established family firm, but they also have a growing international presence. To be considered a manufacturer and supplier of choice, and secure repeated purchases by such a significant customer is extremely encouraging and we’re delighted that the quality and specification of our machines, matched by the reliable customer service, has positioned us so favourably with them.’
