Bear Concrete expand their ready-mixed concrete fleet with new truckmixer from Sterling

BEAR Concrete, a rapidly growing ready-mixed concrete firm delivering to a wide area across Derbyshire and South Yorkshire, have recently bolstered their operational capabilities with the acquisition of a new Mercedes Arocs 8×4 3240 chassis fitted with a Sterling 8m drum mixer.

The truckmixer was supplied through Sterling’s stock programme, allowing the vehicle to be on the road within four weeks from order, including paintwork and livery in Bear Concrete’s distinctive branding.

The Sterling truckmixer includes capped blades and superior helical coil geometry to ensure thoroughly mixed premium-quality concrete, as well as a rapid charge and discharge rate for more efficiency on site. A 400-litre steel water tank provides adequate water for washing down and controlling the concrete mix where necessary, while maintaining a competitive payload.

Sterling truckmixers are built at the firm’s factory in North Yorkshire – a 38,000ft2 complex on a five-acre site which also houses the plant body production line. Technical support and parts are provided nationwide by the same team to guarantee timely and practical assistance in service.

Bear Concrete director Nick Roy commented: ‘I was impressed with the experience of working with Sterling Mixers. From the start, they were proactive and helpful to deal with. We received the truck, painted in our colours, only four weeks or so after placing the order. It looks great and is a vital tool for our growth and investment plans.’
