MIRO minerals conference 2011

International conference on sustainable aggregates production, carbon capture and storage, re-mineralization and reuse of quarry assets

THE Mineral Industry Research Organisation (MIRO), in association with the mineral industry, will be hosting its annual international conference addressing minerals research and its practical applications in the minerals sector on Thursday 23 June 2011 at the Heritage Motor Centre Museum, Gaydon, Warwickshire.

Eminent speakers from industry and academia invited from the UK and Europe will present state-of-the-art information on a wide range of topics ranging from innovation in mineral processing to cutting-edge technological developments in carbon absorption and storage.

The event will allow delegates to share and explore new ideas and to review innovations in the following thematic areas: aggregates processing and its impact on energy and production costs; carbon capture and storage; re-mineralization and mineral-enhancement techniques; and filler and quarry dust utilizations in high-value and high-volume cross-sector applications.

The conference is aimed at all stakeholders including aggregates and mineral processors, specifiers, clients, designers, policy-makers, planners, local authorities, consultants and construction companies with specific interest in the development and management of sustainable aggregates production, environmental protection, energy reduction, carbon storage and mineralization initiatives.
