New joint-venture industry training provider targets global growth with launch of new website

NEW industry training providers MinTrain, a joint venture between U.K. Truckmixer Training Ltd and MinExp, have launched their new website (www.min-train.com) as they look to grow the business globally.

Industry experts Mike Phillips and Roy Bush from MinExp, and the owner of award-winning U.K. Truckmixer Training Ltd, Mark Cowan, set up MinTrain to offer their customers a ‘one-stop shop’ for training and assessments.

Mr Cowan said: ‘Although we operate in different sectors of the industry, it quickly became apparent that there was value in combining what we offer, so we looked at the best way to approach this.

‘Targeting the same customers but with two different brands, it was pretty evident that we could offer a stronger brand collectively and decided on MinTrain.

‘Having put together everything we offer, it places us in a strong position within the market as a new, alternative, and innovative training provider for the minerals sector.’

Mike Phillips added: ‘If you look at how far we’ve come in such a short space of time, we hope to build on this even further as we branch out overseas, as well as continuing to focus on the UK market.

‘Having the OCA (Occupational Competence Assessment), TMCA (Tipper/Mixer Competence Assessment) and QuarrySURE, MixerSURE and TipperSURE training in our portfolio provides our customers with everything they need all in one place.

‘We know that with both the TMCA and OCA, we bring real value to the driver and operator competence requirements and a valid alternative to other card schemes within the industry.’

Mr Cowan continued: ‘It’s great to see that both the TMCA and OCA can bridge a gap without the long process of a VQ (Vocational Qualification) but with the same high-quality standard.

‘As the OCA is fully compliant with the National Occupational Standard (NOS) for mobile and processing plant operations, we have also produced the internationally recognized standard for mixers. This allows drivers to fully demonstrate competence against the set criteria, regardless of which country they operate in.

‘Being able to offer these ground-breaking assessments, which all come fully assured, accredited, and certificated by EMPI Awards, reassures our customers that everything we do is to the highest standard.

‘Our vision is simple – with further assessments currently being developed, we don’t wait to be asked; we innovate and create content that the industry needs.’
