Metso Lokotrack LT106 wins iF design award

Mobile crushing plant among three Metso products to pick up prestigious industrial design awards

THE Lokotrack LT106 mobile crushing plant was one of three Metso products to win an award in this year’s prestigious iF design competition, which had more than 3,200 entries in 17 categories. The awards were presented in Munich, Germany, on 28 February.

For Metso, industrial design synonymous with high performance, productivity, safety, usability and competitiveness, with customer expectations and wishes guiding the product concept development process. The company says its goal is to always provide the best possible user experience through well-designed equipment that provides the user with significant benefits.

 

The jury in what is widely regarded as one of the world’s top product design competitions, said they recognized Metso’s products for their design quality, degree of innovation, environmental impact, functionality, safety and branding, among other criteria.

With reference to the Lokotrack LT106, they said its design set it apart from the competitors not just by its looks, but also by the usability, serviceability and safer working environment it offers. During the past 30 years, more than 6,000 track-mounted Lokotrack units have been delivered to sites around the world.

The other Metso products to receive iF design awards this year were the MR biomass moisture analyzer and the company’s EtaCut II scrap shear and EtaShred ZZ shredder concept.
