Metso introduce the Nordberg HP900

Nordberg HP900 cone crusher

New cone crusher designed to deliver increased performance and reduced capital expenditure

METSO, one of the global leaders in cone crushing technology, are introducing the new Nordberg HP900 Series cone crusher, which is said to offer increased performance with reduced CAPEX for the aggregates and mining markets.

The HP900 is an upgrade to the well-known HP800 cone crusher that has more than 175 installations worldwide. Approximately 80% of the parts are compatible between the two technologies.

The new HP900 comes with improved kinematics, a raised pivot point and extra power, resulting in a 15% increase in capacity. A new lubrication system is also included to help support the new performance level.

‘Often copied but never matched, HP cone crushers have satisfied many aggregates and mining customers around the world,’ said Jim Bathie, vice-president of mining crushers at Metso. ‘With the HP900 we go straight to the point, with increased performance and reduced CAPEX.’

The HP900 is delivered pre-assembled, pre-wired and factory tested. Moreover, the equipment is packaged with a rubber-pad-mounted subframe and guards, allowing quick and safe set-up with a compact footprint. These factors help reduce installation time by 50%.

Thanks to the HP900’s proven and reliable tramp-release system, the new crusher allows passage of tramp iron, thereby minimizing production stoppages and protecting internal components.

Top service access to the head, shaft, eccentric and other major components make disassembly safe and easy. Additionally, Metso say their wear parts can be replaced up to four times faster than similar cone crushers.

The HP900 is equipped with Metso’s simple-to-use IC70C automation system which ensures that optimum operating parameters are maintained and the crusher’s full potential is achieved. The system allows all information to be tracked using a single screen and features help and trouble-shooting options.
