Management changes at E. P. Barrus

INDUSTRIAL engine specialists E. P. Barrus Ltd have announced a number of changes to the board as well as the introduction of a new senior management structure with immediate effect.

Andrew Feilden is stepping down from his current role as chairman, which he has held since 1995, but will remain with the company as a non-executive director of the board.

He is succeeded as chairman of the board by Robert Glen, who is stepping down as managing director, a role he has held for 28 years.

Meanwhile, Robert Muir replaces Mr Glen as managing director. Mr Muir joined the board in 1990 as finance director and company secretary and held an operations role within the company until two years ago when he was appointed sales and marketing director.

Tim Hart has now been appointed as director of sales and marketing, having joined the company in 1995 from Volvo Penta UK as general manager of the Marine Diesel Division, representing Yanmar Marine and John Deere Marine.

In addition, Keryn Clarke, who joined company in 2007 as business process manager, has been appointed as director of operations.

Finally, William Appleby has been appointed as director of finance. He joined the company as head of finance earlier this year having previously been a partner with Ernst & Young.

Commenting on the new structure, new managing director Robert Muir said: ‘Barrus are constantly evolving; we are always striving to bring on new talent while keeping succession planning under constant review.

‘The new management team combines a wealth of experience and expertise and puts the company in the strongest possible position to embrace the challenges and opportunities facing the business into the future.’
