Leadership continuity at Metso Outotec

Pekka Vauramo

Pekka Vauramo to continue as president and chief executive officer until end of 2024

METSO Outotec’s board of directors and president and chief executive officer Pekka Vauramo have agreed that Mr Vauramo’s contract will be extended until the end of 2024.

Mr Vauramo (pictured) took over as Metso’s president and chief executive officer in November 2018 and has continued in the role since the company’s merger was completed in July 2020. In October 2020, it was announced that his contract had been extended until the end of 2023.

Kari Stadigh, chair of the board, said: ‘Following the merger of Metso Minerals and Outotec, Metso Outotec have executed their strategy successfully and the company is well positioned for future growth.

‘In the prevailing uncertain global environment, it is appropriate that there is continuity in the leadership and that Pekka Vauramo’s contract as president and chief executive officer is extended.’

Mr Vauramo commented: ‘Metso Outotec have developed well, and we continue to have good opportunities ahead. I am happy to be part of the journey for another year.’
