Latest concrete mixer transmission from ZF

ZF have developed the Ecomix II CML 10 (pictured above), their latest low-speed transmission for use in truckmixers up to 10m3 drum capacity and output torques up to 62,000Nm. The CML 10 is approximately 50% shorter and 20% lighter than previous units, providing greater flexibility, quieter operation and easier maintenance.

As well as the benefits of reduced weight and size, Ecomix II has a special design that offers other advantages. The transmission, for example, features a new rugged bearing arrangement that significantly increases output bearing strength and results in less sensitivity to shocks during off-road operation.

The use of patented elastomer bearing units from ZF Boge Elastmetall also means that the installation angle for the Ecomix II transmission is no longer dependent on drum size; an installation angle of up to 20° is now achievable. In addition, the acoustic and mechanical decoupling of the drum and vehicle frame offers considerable noise reduction during operation, as well as improved driving comfort.

The serviceability of the transmission has also been improved thanks to an adapted weight-optimized low-speed hydro motor, together with separate oils for transmission and hydrostatic operations. Also, where the previous ZF transmission used a sealing collar, Ecomix II now incorporates a more robust cassette seal for longer service life.
