Komatsu dozer debut

The first Komatsu D65PX-15 dozer in the UK has been delivered to Viking Plant of Shrewsbury. The machine is currently on hire to Ascot Environmental at Calvert landfill site near Aylesbury, where it is being used to accurately trim the formation of a 2m thick clay liner for a new cell, working to a tolerance of just 50mm.

The D65PX, supplied by Marubeni-Komatsu, is powered by a Komatsu six-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine developing 142kW (190hp) at 1,950 rev/min driving through a three-speed Komatsu Torqflow transmission.

The machine is operated using Komatsu’s Palm Command Control System, which comprises a single joystick to control both direction of travel and hydrostatic steering. A separate blade joystick with proportional pressure control allows ultra-fine blade movements, independent of both blade load and machine speed.
