Kleemann works for Worsley

Worsley Plant Ltd, Manchester-based crushing and screening contractors, have recently added a new Kleemann + Reiner Mobirex MRB 122 Z primary track-mounted impact crushing system to their fleet.

After extensive market research and product evaluation, Worsley Plant made the decision to purchase the Kleemann + Reiner unit as it fitted their criteria.

The MRB 122 Z is a 70-ton unit incorporating a 6m³ hopper with a 3,500mm long feeder and 2,250mm x 1,200mm independent heavy-duty double-deck scalping pre-screen, feeding into a 1,270mm wide x 1,000mm deep (1,250mm deep with hydraulic lifting inlet case) impact crushing chamber. All adjustments to the operation of the crusher are by means of hydraulic cylinders operated at the touch of a lever, this allows for rapid adjustments of the two impact toggles and also for maintenance purposes.

Directly below the crusher is a vibrating feed chute with a clearance of 800mm. This heavy-duty, Hardox-lined feeder accepts the primary force of crushed material from the impactor and greatly assists in the free flow of material from the crusher to the 1,400mm wide main conveyor. The feeder also incorporates belt protection, especially important when working on recycling applications where tramp material/rebar are present in the feed material. This unit also seals the area where most spillage and dust problems occur, eliminating these problems at source.

The Mobirex MRB 122 Z is a diesel/electro/hydraulic unit powered by a 312kW Scania DI 14-77 A power pack and Leroy Somer generator. The crusher is driven by a 200kW motor with all other drives being driven from the generator set, this set up allows for 100% efficiency of power to the crusher and all other drives compared with other hydraulic-only units, and also reduces running and maintenance costs.

To date the production capacity through the crusher has exceeded 400 tons/h and is consistently averaging 300–350 tons/h of a –75mm product with a split of between 70–80% at –40mm.
