Kleemann UK join Wirtgen Group

FOLLOWING the Wirtgen Group’s acquisition of crushing and screening equipment manufacturers Kleemann GmbH in August 2006, Kleemann’s UK business has now been merged into Wirtgen Ltd.

Forming the basis of Wirtgen’s new ‘Mineral Technologies’ business segment, all key Kleemann UK staff have this month relocated from Northampton to Wirtgen Ltd’s newly expanded headquarters in Lincoln, and plans are already under way for a new production plant in Germany and further development of the product range.

Wirtgen Ltd say they will immediately add value to the Kleemann product range through increased parts holding in the UK and access to 23 service engineers located throughout the country. The Kleemann team is also being strengthened with the addition of a national sales manager and further service engineers.

As a direct subsidiary of the Wirtgen Group, Wirtgen Ltd deal directly with their customers rather than through dealers. This, they say, is the key to their success with the Wirtgen, Vogele and Hamm brands, which now constitute the company’s ‘Road Technologies’ business segment.

‘Although our Mineral Technologies division will be totally focused on the Kleemann product, the customer synergy with our road equipment is very strong,’ said Paul Field, managing director of Wirtgen in the UK and Ireland. ‘Kleemann are a great brand and together with Wirtgen investment, we believe they are set to meet any future challenges in this competitive market sector.’
