Kingfisher to share stand with Don Valley Engineering at Hillhead 2014

K-BAS wear-resistant lining system

Wear-resistant lining specialists team up with one of UK’s largest OEMs at this year’s show

KINGFISHER will be joined by one of their most valued customers, Don Valley Engineering (DVE), at this year’s Hillhead exhibition.

Don Valley’s group sales manager, Jeff Buxton, commented: ‘We are delighted to have the opportunity of exhibiting alongside Kingfisher. The event will allow us to demonstrate our full capabilities, and how Kingfisher provide the ‘added value’ to our key equipment.’

Kingfisher have worked on numerous projects for the internationally renowned material-handling specialists, manufacturing and lining key process plant and equipment such as pipework, transfer chutes, centrifuges, screens and underpans.

Kingfisher were recently awarded a project by Don Valley where there was a requirement to manufacture equipment such as an underpan, transfer chutes and reception hoppers for incorporation into a new coal-blending plant for a UK power provider.

All the finished products were installed with a combination of Kingfisher’s K-BAS and K-PLAS wear-resistant lining systems, to cater for the effects of various blends of abrasive coal with varying ash content.

The K-BAS ceramic lining system provides added surface protection by promoting resistance to friction-induced abrasion, thus allowing bulk material to flow from one process to another without causing high levels of corrosion and wear.

The K-PLAS lining system is well suited to situations where plant and processes are handling sticky material, providing a free-flowing surface together with a high degree of wear resistance.

With both materials working hand in hand, the equipment will successfully combat wear and abrasion and increase the life expectancy of the key process plant and equipment for many years to come.

Kingfisher’s managing director, John Connolly, commented: ‘We’re looking forward to this year’s event together with Don Valley. There will be a range of different equipment types on display and visitors will have the opportunity to speak to qualified sales engineers and gain first-hand advice on the reputable systems we offer, which help reduce maintenance costs and increase productivity and return on investment.’
