Keeping oil in and dirt out
Robeco International have launched a new heavy-duty oil seal, specifically designed for situations where the air may be contaminated with flying mud, concrete dust or various abrasive particles.
The active element of the NAK type-AO, AJ and AP shaft seal is a metal-reinforced moulding of nitrile rubber on a steel core, coupled with a garter spring. It is a multi-lipped pre-lubricated seal used in conjunction with an integral wear sleeve. The innermost section remains stationary on the shaft, while the outer part rotates with the bearing cage.
The shaft seal has been designed to flex, allowing axial movement between shaft and housing; long service life by the exclusion of moisture and dust; and easy maintenance. The integral wear-sleeve design allows for easy installation.
