JCB 220X excavator ‘the best ever’

JCB 220X excavator

Lomond Plant operators brand 220X the best excavator JCB have ever produced

LOMOND Plant have bought more than 250 JCB models in a deal worth in excess of £13 million, including a fleet of 18 brand new JCB X-Series excavators, all supplied by dealers Scot JCB.

Operators at the Falkirk-based firm – which offers plant hire services across the UK – have described the new X Series as the by far the best excavator JCB have ever produced.

The huge investment forms part of Lomond Plant’s ongoing expansion plans, which have already seen growth in the north-west of England and the Midlands, with a new depot in Yorkshire set to open.

Lomond Plant’s joint managing director, Ross Easton, said: ‘We always choose JCB for the value, parts availability from the JCB World Parts Centre and the continual superb service from our dealer, Scot JCB. In addition to those factors, the enhanced operator comfort and robust design really stood out on the new X Series.

‘We’ve had some great reviews on the machine from operators saying it’s by far the best tracked excavator produced by JCB in terms of cab layout and comfort – and also the performance and control of the machine has hugely improved.

‘JCB LiveLink is a key bonus of working with JCB too. We can access information across our entire fleet at any time, whilst the live tracking and fuel-monitoring features are extremely valuable to use.’

The brand new JCB 220X – a 20-tonne tracked excavator model, launched earlier this year – has been designed to provide maximum operator comfort, durability and reliability in operation.

Over a four-year development period, JCB have undertaken a programme of intensive component and product testing to achieve increased levels of build quality and reliability for customers in this advanced new machine.

Most impressively, the new 220X boasts an exceptionally low 67dB(A) noise level inside the operator’s cab, down from 73dB(A) on the previous generation, and features a 15% larger cab with integral ROPS structure, simple user interface and stronger side doors for greater strength and increased protection.
