Intellitec introduce I-Start ultracapacitor

High-efficiency power supply improves starting reliability for plant and light commercial fleets

POWER-management specialists Intellitec MV Ltd have announced their latest auto-electrical development, the I-Start ultracapacitor system.

Designed for use as an uninterruptable 12V power supply in plant and light commercial fleets, this latest concept offers an effective solution for delivering guaranteed high-efficiency starting power.

‘In the current financial climate, there is an increasing need for fleet managers and engineers to ensure that their vehicles remain as reliable and as trouble-free as possible,’ said Intellitec sales and marketing director Duncan Hughes.

‘The I-Start unit fits easily into an engine bay and will significantly extend vehicle battery life and improve starting reliability. The system is now proven technology with a number of major utility fleets.’

He added: ‘The I-Start system is designed to be quick and easy to install, and will typically operate for more than a million cycles, meaning that the unit can be transferred into other vehicles at the end of the original vehicle’s service life, giving the operator incredible value on his investment.’

Specializing in commercial vehicles and plant, Intellitec offer a range of 12 and 24V DC power-management systems, such as Battery Guard, the Cargo Light Controller and the Isolator Relay Delay.

In addition, the company offers its own programmable multiplex system and a rapid prototyping service, which allows OEM vehicle manufacturers to design and develop electrical systems from concept to production in less than six weeks.

As well as manufacturing bespoke systems, Intellitec are a distributor for a number of well known inverter and charger manufacturers, including Whisper Power, Victron Energy, Xantrex and Sterling Power.
