Ingersoll Rand Attachments appoint Northern Ireland distributor

Ingersoll Rand Attachments have appointed TBF Thompson Group as their new authorized distributor in Northern Ireland. The company’s range of demolition and recycling attachments has also recently undergone significant expansion, with several new series of products launched under both the Montabert and Ingersoll Rand brands.

Mark McCluskey, sales director at TBF Thompson, said: ‘We are delighted to be representing Ingersoll Rand Attachments in Northern Ireland. Their product range includes the well-established Montabert range of hydraulic breakers, which has always been popular in this country, while the Ingersoll Rand range of attachments has huge potential as excavator owners look to get more out of their machines by working with a broader range of products.’

Ingersoll Rand are said to be the only specialists to offer a complete range of attachments, from hydraulic breakers to crusher buckets, covering every application in demolition and recycling.

The company has recently added compact and heavy machine attachments to its portfolio of products. The latter was extended by the acquisition of the Geith line of attachment products at the end of 2006 and includes mixing buckets, augers, plate compactors and planers suitable for use on all makes of large excavators.

The company has also launched the new Montabert V2500 heavy-range hydraulic breaker for carriers from 27 to 40 tonnes. It can be used for a wide range of applications in construction, demolition, excavation and trenching work. The operating weight of the V2500 is 2,520kg; the height of the breaker with tool and brackets is 3,240mm; and the tool diameter is 160mm. The hydraulic flow required to operate the breaker is 175 to 250 litres/min and the blow frequency varies from a minimum of 350bpm to a maximum of 500bpm.

Complementing the Montabert range is a selection of new Ingersoll Rand demolition and recycling attachments, including pulverizers, handling grapples, screening buckets and hydraulic steel shears.

With 360° hydraulic rotation, the new RPU rotating pulverizer is suitable for both primary and secondary demolition applications, recycling, separating and reducing the size of rubble in demolition debris. There are four RPU models for carriers from 10 to 40 tonnes, providing jaw openings from 60 to 120cm. Working horizontally, the new FPU fixed pulverizer is designed for secondary demolition, reducing recycled concrete to rubble in order to facilitate loading and transportation or reuse on site. The FPU is available in three models from 1.1 to 2.4 tonnes for carriers from 12 to 35 tonnes.

The new HGR handling grapple is capable of sorting and moving various materials including demolition rubble, rocks and waste products, for reduced loading times. Ten models cover a wide range of excavators from 3 to 65 tonnes.

The new GSB and RSB screening buckets offer a different approach to the sorting of a wide range of materials. The grills in the GSB bucket are particularly suited to reclamation work on stony ground, while the RSB rotary bucket is designed for cleaning sand and screening river-borne material.

The new CRB crusher bucket is capable of crushing demolition rubble, stone and stored waste. Two models are available for carriers from 18 to 40 tonnes. The jaw opening can be adjusted from 20 to 130mm.

Finally, HSS hydraulic steel shears are designed to cut entire iron/steel structures in both aerial and on-the-ground applications. They can be fitted to any type of excavator from 9 to 110 tonnes and nine models are available ranging from 1.6 to 9.0 tonnes in weight.
