Hope Construction Materials introduce HOPEFlow

New range of self-compacting ready-mixed concretes designed to save contractors time and money

A NEW range of ready-mixed concretes has been launched by Hope Construction Materials, Britain’s leading independent supplier of cement and concrete.

HOPEFlow is a suite of high-performance, self-compacting concretes and flowing screeds that can be placed in a fraction of the time of conventional concrete mixes. The product also provides a high-quality surface finish that requires little or no further remedial work.

The range, which is available nationwide and is suitable for use in any situation where conventional concrete could be used, from foundations and floors to walls and columns, comprises:

  • HOPEFlow Finish – for flooring applications and other horizontal slabs
  • HOPEFlow Fine – an architectural grade for high-quality finishes
  • HOPEFlow Foundation – for use in all trench and foundation applications
  • HOPEFlow Form – a general-purpose grade for use in framed and general construction
  • HOPEFlow Gypscreed – a self-compacting, free-flowing floor screed.

The product flows quickly and easily around complex formwork and busy rebar without the need for vibration, thereby eliminating the effects of hand-arm vibration and generating less noise throughout the installation process.

In addition, Hope Construction Materials are creating a network of HOPEFlow-approved contractors equipped with the skills and know-how to install the products.

The products have already been used by a number of firms in the industry in a bid to increase the efficiency, speed, quality and finish of projects, with fewer people required to complete jobs.

Karl Lawes, business development manager with screeding specialists Co-Dunkall Ltd, was one of the first to use HOPEFlow and commented: ‘Using HOPEFlow you can generally get a new-build plot of 150 square metres poured and finished within three hours, giving the customer the surface finish that they require.’

Hope Construction Materials’ technical director, Mike Bull, said: ‘After an intensive development programme and live trials with construction partners, we’re delighted to already be introducing HOPEFlow after the launch of the company in January.

‘A combination of concrete additive technology and a formulated blend of aggregates helps to give HOPEFlow its remarkable properties.’

He added: ‘Although the idea of self-compacting concrete is not new, the innovation is the ability to supply it almost anywhere in the country.’
