Hillhead 2012: Latest products from QHi-Rail

QHi-Rail, based in Harpenden, Hertfordshire, was taken over by the supplier of its lubricants in May, the American company Whitmore’s. So Jack D Ellis from Rockwall, Texas, was on the QHi-Rail stand to introduce a product the company wants to sell to quarrying and recycling companies.
It is a range of oil filters filled with silica jell to remove water from sensitive areas, as well as removing any contaminants down to two microns.
The filter is made from Tritan, a plastic that is exceptionally impact resistant, and aluminium. In order to manufacture it into filters a whole new sonic welding process was developed by Whitmore’s.
The jell in the filter gradually turns green as the filter is used and when it has all turned green it needs replacing, although it is only the canister of jell that has to be replaced, not the whole unit.
