Government Reform Agenda and new ‘Safety Dialogue’ live panel to be featured at Esher event

AS the current Health and Safety Reform agenda gathers pace, an update on progress including the implementation of the Löfstedt report and the early experiences of Fee for Intervention (FFI) will be highlighted at Health & Safety South 2013, which takes place at Sandown Park Racecourse in Esher, Surrey, from 12–13 March.

Visitors to the event will have the opportunity to join a unique debate on Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) face-fit testing, thanks to a new ‘Safety Dialogue’ Live Panel that will include recognized experts such as Frank Angear of the British Safety Industry Federation (BSIF) and Alan McArthur of 3M Safety Solutions.

Outlining some of the most important developments in the safety sector and opening the free conference programme (organized in conjunction with the British Safety Council) will be a presentation entitled ‘Current Developments on the Reform Agenda’.

Delivered by Philip White, Chief Inspector of the Construction Division, HSE, the presentation will make particular reference to the current health and safety challenges in the construction industry, including the proposed revision of the CDM Regulatory package and the HSE’s future priorities for the industry.

Health and safety workshops will also be running during the two-day event to give visitors the chance to expand their knowledge and network with safety groups, as well as have the opportunity to volunteer to become a ‘Health Risks at Work’ champion.
