Hitachi Construction Machinery UK invest in Scotland with new product support depot

HITACHI Construction Machinery UK (HCMUK) are relocating their Scottish depot to support their fast-growing customer base and increasing demand for product support.

The company is leaving its 1,200 sq ft Bellshill parts depot to open a new 12,500 sq ft product support facility in Cumbernauld, near Glasgow. The new depot will be at the heart of the Hitachi customer ownership experience in Scotland, providing parts, service, and sales support to new and existing customers.

Eight full-time members of staff will be based at the new depot, complete with parts warehouse with trade counter, workshop space, modern office space to accommodate the sales team, and a large, concreted yard to house new and used Hitachi machines.

The new base will also create two new full-time positions at HCMUK, helping to boost the local economy and further secure the company’s investment north of the border.

Stephen Creaser, director of product support at HCMUK, said: ‘By investing in bigger premises, employing new sales staff, additional service engineers and a dedicated product support manager, we can ensure that customer uptime will be maximized throughout the region to increase profitability and reduce machine downtime.’

The new depot is located at: 45 Toll Park Place, Ward Park Industrial Estate, Cumbernauld, Glasgow G68 0LN.
