Hanson clean up

Nilfisk-Advance have designed and installed an industrial cleaning and waste-extraction solution for Hanson Aggregates.

"The tailor-made fixed-vacuum system is being used to collect and recycle waste debris, including sand, gravel and granite, generated during the asphalt production process at their plant in Kennett, Cambridgeshire."

"The custom-built system comprises a powerful GB 1033 suction unit, a 40ft3 interceptor tank and 30m of steel pipework. Five inlet flaps have been installed throughout the plant so that operatives can simply ‘plug in’ a flexible hose and switch on. Two 30min cleaning sessions each week are expected to eliminate the build up of waste material, providing a clean working environment and reducing potential damage to machinery."

"As part of the system design, Nilfisk-Advance have incorporated a pneumatic air valve at the top of the interceptor which allows useful extracted material to be routed back into the production process."

"The GB 1033 is equipped with three-phase motors and has a maximum airflow of 192 litres/s. The high-capacity hopper allows longer running before emptying and reduces the volume of dust getting into the filter, thereby maintaining power and increasing reliability."
