Grand Opening for Ritchie Bros. in Grande Prairie
RITCHIE Bros. Auctioneers, the world’s largest industrial auctioneers, are to sell a wide range of mining and heavy construction equipment – including a fleet of late-model rock trucks – in a two-day unreserved public auction being held today and tomorrow (24–25 November 2009) at the company’s brand new permanent auction site in Grande Prairie.
More than 650 items of equipment will be sold to the highest bidders over the two days, with no minimum bids or reserve prices. A major highlight of the event will be the sale of 24 rock trucks, including 15 late-model, low-hour Cat 777D rock trucks.
According to Ritchies, this will be the largest grouping of Cat 777D rock trucks ever sold by the company in an unreserved auction within North America. Also for sale will be Cat 773B, Cat 773D and two Komatsu HD785-5 rock trucks.
Other equipment being sold in the Grand Opening auction will include, among many others: a Hitachi EX1800 hydraulic front shovel; around 35 crawler tractors; nearly 30 hydraulic excavators; 10 wheel loaders; 10 articulated dumptrucks; as well as several motor scrapers, motor graders and crawler drill rigs.
Since acquiring their first permanent auction site in Grande Prairie in 2002, Ritchie Bros. have conducted 50 auctions in the city. The company’s new 59-acre auction site, complete with refurbishment facilities, an 800-seat auction theatre and a 900-vehicle car park, replaces the former 31-acre site.
