Fortress tackles changing safety standards

Operators of hazardous machinery can now address changing safety requirements with the Amgard modular interlocking system from Fortress Interlocks. Most Amgard modules can be retro-fitted to existing Amgard interlocks, allowing operators to modify their interlocking systems as machinery and procedures are upgraded.

Options available include: tongue-and-handle operation, override facility, and solenoid-operated access control for machinery with run-down cycles. Additional modules available include an option pod fitted with key switch, status indicators or push button, and internal release units for emergency situations. Fortress also offer the choice of a lockout device or a safety key adaptor to prevent the operator being accidentally locked in a guarded area.

Ingress protected to IP67, the Amgard range is designed to tolerate extreme misalignment. Dual channel safety circuitry and tamperproof locking mechanisms ensure operator safety while allow rapid access to machinery.
