ERIKS unveil new motor calculator at Hillhead 2012

Range of powerful tools that improve plant efficiency and reliability will form basis of ERIKS’ stand at quarrying and recycling show

ERIKS will showcase a range of powerful tools that improve plant efficiency and reliability at Hillhead 2012, including a demo version of the new motor calculator, which allows engineers to make the best possible decision when repairing or replacing a motor.

The ERIKS motor calculator is an effective online tool that uses customer-specific information such as motor running costs, along with other data including current replacement costs, to estimate the best of three options when faced with a motor breakdown: repair the motor, replace with a standard motor, or replace with an energy-efficient motor. The motor calculator allows engineers to make an objective, cost-effective decision because it works out the best option based on total cost of ownership, demonstrating ERIKS’ unbiased repair and replace capabilities.

ERIKS condition-monitoring solutions will be also be showcased at Hillhead 2012, including live demonstrations of a new cloud-hosted condition-monitoring solution for fast and effective predictive maintenance. ERIKS will also be demonstrating their latest fluid power products, bearings, motors, drives and lubrication technology.

Another popular feature on the ERIKS stand will be the launch of a new offer that allows engineers to purchase an MC1001 or MCX20 Gates self-assembly crimper for just £1 from the ERIKS Fluid Power Core Competence Centre.

The quick-change Revolvo SRB SNQ series split roller bearing will also be on display. This stress-free retrofit solution allows easy conversion and full dimensional interchangeability with conventional SN, SNL and SD series plummer blocks, resulting in a reduction in changeover time from hours to minutes. Other attractions include the Sentry hydraulic hose monitoring, diagnostics and identification system from Gates, plus IE4-ready Fenner inverters for precision control of permanent magnet motors, and tough metal-faced steel seals from Pioneer Weston.

ERIKS’ business and technical managers will also be available to explain how their nationwide Service, Repair and Core Competence Centres can provide local support, and how their dedicated procurement and management services help cut costs and improve efficiency.
