EPC-UK launch 2019 Best Practice Seminars

EPC-UK Best Practice Seminar

Company announces details of the latest series in its biennial programme of best-practice seminars

EPC-UK, specialists in the field of commercial explosives and drilling and blasting, will once again be hosting their biennial Best Practice Seminars, the purpose of which is to provide the extractives industry with a unique continuing professional development (CPD) opportunity.

The seminars have been specifically designed to deliver an informative programme of interactive presentations that will be an invaluable source of knowledge for all who work in the sector.

Each seminar will contribute to an individual’s CPD, a process which recognizes professionalism through lifelong learning and ensures employees skills are kept relevant and up to date. All attendees will receive a certificate of recognition upon completion of the seminar.

Ian Davies, general manager of EPC-UK, explained why the company continues to offer these free sessions: ‘In our ever-changing industry, ongoing training and the sharing of knowledge is imperative. Our seminars not only help to disseminate this information, but also enable attendees to attain the accreditations needed for their own personal career progression.’

The seminars will cover a variety of topics, including: Mental Health and Safety; QNJAC Update; Digital Drilling and Blasting; Common Errors in Profiling; Management of Change; Shotfiring Rules; Misfire Investigation Process; Shock Research and Development; and Geophone Mounting Techniques.

Each seminar will also play host to a guest speaker, as well as providing delegates with a valuable opportunity to network with their peers and share best practice. A full agenda and information regarding the guest speakers will be announced in the coming weeks.

The seminars will be held at the following locations across the country throughout May and June 2019:

  • Thursday 9 May – Westerwood Hotel, Cumbernauld, Scotland
  • Wednesday 22 May – The Nottingham Belfry, Nottinghamshire
  • Wednesday 5 June – Low Wood Bay Hotel, Ambleside, Cumbria
  • Tuesday 11 June – Coldra Court Hotel, Newport, Wales
  • Tuesday 25 June – Bedruthan Hotel and Spa, Mawgan Porth, Cornwall.

Mr Davies continued: ‘This programme of seminars has been devised for anyone who works within the extractives industry, from senior managers to operators at the rock face, and is our way of contributing towards improving competency within our industry.’
