Volvo CE launch new digital solution to enhance operator experience and strengthen electric transformation

A NEW digital solution from Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) has been launched to enhance the operator experience, strengthen the electric transformation, and put productivity and energy efficiency in the user's hands. The My Equipment web-based app has been specifically designed with the operator in mind – providing easy access to essential data on their connected equipment, on the go and from any device.

Built to deliver an excellent digital experience, it provides vital information on machine hours, status, location, and power consumption. Launched primarily for electric machines, it provides peace of mind for operators, or anyone on site needing to monitor battery charging status remotely – thanks to notifications alerting them if there is a disruption to charging. Whilst designed to ensure operators get the most out of their electric construction equipment, My Equipment also has the ability to connect to diesel machines, providing customers with additional information on fuel level and more.


Ben Ditchcreek, service owner, Sustainable Energy Services for Volvo CE, said: ‘We identified an urgent need for a reliable digital interface to support operators of electric machines. This is so that they can quickly and easily understand the real-time status of charging whenever they are away from the machine – either on a break or before they arrive on site. Operators will then feel more prepared to tackle a productive day.

‘Customers with electric cars are used to monitoring charging status and other factors via their mobile phones. We want to match that with our own leading customer solution for the construction industry – built for the specific demands of a modern construction site.’

Thanks to being accessible on any web browser or device, the app is set to make it smoother to onboard new operators and quickly connect them to the status of all electric machines on their worksites. These include Volvo CE’s leading range of electric compact equipment, including the EC18 Electric, ECR18 Electric, and ECR25 Electric excavators and the L20 Electric and L25 Electric wheel loaders, as well as the mid-size EC230 Electric excavator.

The first release of My Equipment is integrated into the Volvo CareTrack starter package, allowing for easy management of operator and machine access. Future releases will include additional features that will be part of a paid subscription service.

It will be introduced to select markets in Europe starting this month (June), with a further roll-out set for North America and other global regions at a later date.
