A new solution from Atlas Copco, designated Fuel Xpert, has been designed to intelligently regulate the engine speed and air intake of their compressors to optimize fuel consumption.  Atlas Copco say that this innovation ensures that their compressors offer more than 10% improved economy compared with competitive compressors at partial load. An additional benefit of the new system is that in cold weather the compressor can start with a closed inlet, opening as required to deliver air. The Fuel Xpert solution will be available on all high-capacity and high-pressure compressors.
