Elecon Engineering acquire Radicon Group
ELECON Engineering, India’s largest gear manufacturers, have acquired the Radicon Group from David Brown Gear Systems. The UK-based firm, which includes two overseas business units (Benzlers and Radicon Thailand), supplies pre-engineered gear systems under a globally recognized brand to a broad range of industries, including quarrying, mining and materials handling.
The recent acquisition for Elecon Engineering represents a key opportunity to increase their global growth ambitions; providing access to the North American and European markets, as well as broadening the company’s overall product portfolio.
Intellectual property rights on all Radicon and Benzlers products will remain with the companies and the supply chains will continue as normal, ensuring the quality and reputation customers expect from these recognized brands.
Radicon will operate under a new company name, Radicon UK Ltd (previously David Brown Radicon), while the management team will remain the same and continue to be based at the Huddersfield site until a new location is found within the region.
‘The change in ownership is a great opportunity for us,’ said Neville Vickery, general manager for Radicon and Benzlers. ‘Elecon Engineering are an established and respected player in the Asian market with excellent supply chain resources.
‘Under the new arrangement, both Radicon and Benzlers can operate more independently – as light and nimble organizations – but with greater engineering expertise, broader experience and with increased global coverage. At the same time, much will stay the same.’
