Doosan unveil new demolition excavator

Doosan DX235DM demolition excavator

Latest DX235DM model specially designed to meet high-reach demolition applications

DOOSAN have announced the launch of the new DX235DM, the first of the manufacturer’s new range of high-reach demolition excavators. Two further models in the range – the DX380DM and DX530D – will follow later in the year.

Typical of the design of the new demolition machines, the DX235DM excavator is equipped with a high visibility, tiltable cab offering a 30-degree tilting angle. Among the other key features of the Doosan high-reach machines are a modular boom design and hydraulic lock mechanism.

The innovative design features, say Doosan, helps make it simple to change between a demolition boom and an earthmoving boom for different types of work on the same project.

For the DX235DM excavator equipped with the 18m long demolition boom, the working range allows the machine to work with a demolition attachment to a maximum height of 16m. The recommended maximum combined weight for the attachment and quick coupler in this mode is 2.1 tonne.

When the high-reach excavator is equipped with the digging boom in a straight configuration, the DX235DM can work to a maximum height of 9m. In this mode, the recommended maximum weight for the attachment and quick coupler is 3.3 tonne.

Using the digging boom in the alternative bent configuration, the demolition machine can work with an attachment to a maximum height of 8m. In this configuration, the recommended maximum weight for the attachment and quick coupler is again 3.3 tonne.

The DX235DM excavator performance is further enhanced by a hydraulically adjustable undercarriage, which extends to a maximum width of 3.74m to provide optimum stability when working on demolition sites. The width of the undercarriage can be retracted hydraulically to 2.54m in the narrow width position for ease of machine transportation.
