Doosan launch new portable compressor

Doosan 7/53 compressor

Latest Stage IIIA-compliant 7/53 compressor model replaces outgoing 7/51 unit

DOOSAN Portable Power have launched their new 7/53 portable compressor, replacing the previous 7/51 model. The company has redesigned the 7/53 compressor so that it remains in the Stage IIIA category, avoiding the need for transition to meet Stage IIIB regulations.

The latest Stage IIIA-compliant compressor has a free air delivery of 5.0 cubic metres per minute at an operating pressure of 7 bar (100 psi). It is powered by a four-cylinder, turbo-charged Yanmar liquid-cooled 4TNV84T-BMDP engine, producing 36kW (49hp) at 2,600 rev/min.

The 7/53 unit comes in a reduced size with a length, in the fixed height version, of 3,389mm, a width of 1,432mm and a height of 1,301mm. Key features of the compressor include: integral forklift slots; increased fuel autonomy; and a new bunded base option.

Among the other options is a 6kVA generator which increases compressor flexibility by providing electrical output in addition to compressed air. This allows electrical tools or other appliances to be run in parallel with pneumatic equipment.

The 7/53 compressor offers quick access to all maintenance points. These areas have been carefully designed for ease of inspection, maintenance and repair. Service intervals for several components have been extended to increase uptime and to reduce maintenance costs. The unit also incorporates a new spin-on separation element that further reduces service time.

The 7/53 compressor has a simple and intuitive key-start sequence, which is suitable for rental companies because of the reduced risk of machine abuse by untrained operators. The user-friendly control panel offers an open layout of instruments and warning indicators.

A folding lift bail reduces the risk of theft by keeping the lifting eye within the compressor enclosure, while a built-in toolbox compartment offers ample storage space. The compressor can be supplied with a range of running-gear options to meet local market requirements.

The 7/53 is part of a 24-model range of Doosan portable compressors, providing free air deliveries between 2 and 45 cubic metres per minute and operating pressures between 7 and 25 bar.
