Latest DX245DM-7 machine replaces outgoing DX235DM-5 excavator model

DOOSAN have added the new DX245DM-7 to their high-reach demolition excavator range, replacing the DX235DM-5 model which was launched in early 2020. As with all Doosan’s demolition machines – including the heavier 47-tonne DX380DM-7 and 61-tonne DX530DM-7 models – the DX245DM-7 features a tiltable cab that provides a 30-degree tilting angle and a high level of visibility.

The new 31-tonne demolition excavator also shares the same modular boom design and hydraulic lock mechanism that enables operators to use the machine for not only high-reach demolition work, but also other on-site applications.

The innovative design features, say Doosan, helps make the DX245DM-7 simple to change between a demolition boom and an earthmoving boom for carrying out different types of work on the same project, using the same machine.

The performance of the latest DX-7 Series excavator model is enhanced by Doosan’s Stage V DL06P diesel engine, which provides 129kW (173hp) at 1,800 rev/min.

For the DX245DM-7 excavator equipped with a 18m long demolition boom, the working range allows the machine to work with a demolition attachment to a maximum height of 16m. The recommended maximum combined weight for the attachment and quick coupler in this mode is 2.5 tonne.

When equipped with the digging boom in the straight configuration, the DX245DM-7 can work to a maximum height of over 9.8m. The recommended maximum weight for the attachment and quick coupler in this mode is 3.3 tonne.

Using the digging boom in the alternative bent configuration, the high-reach machine can work with an attachment to a maximum height of 8m. In this configuration, the recommended maximum weight for the attachment and quick coupler is again 3.3 tonne.

For optimum stability when working on demolition sites, the DX245DM-7 is equipped with a hydraulically adjustable undercarriage, which allows the machine to extend to a maximum width of 3.7m and retracted to just 2.5m for easy transportation and access to narrower spaces.

Typical of the design of all Doosan demolition excavators, safety features of the DX245DM-7 model include: a FOGS cab guard; safety valves for the boom, intermediate boom, and arm cylinders; and a stability warning system.
