South Korean manufacturer to make show debut at biennial construction equipment exhibition

DEVELON, formerly known as Doosan Construction Equipment, will be exhibiting at next month’s Plantworx for the first time. Exhibits on show will include the new six-tonne DX63-7 and eight-tonne DX85R-7 mini-excavators in the static section of the stand and the company’s DX250WMH-7 material handler in the demonstration area.

The DX63-7 model is powered by a Develon D24 diesel engine (Stage V emission-compliant) that delivers 44.3kW (59.4hp) of power. Despite offering an 8% increased torque of 26.5kgm/rpm, the D24 engine still provides a 7% decrease in engine fuel consumption.

The new DX85R-7 reduced-tail-swing excavator utilizes a newly improved upper structure platform that provides increased durability and robustness, as well as a different boom swing cylinder layout resulting in an increased 60° boom swing angle. The bucket digging force of the DX85R-7 is 6.7 tonne, whilst travel speeds are 2.9km/h in the low range and 4.8 km/h in the high range.

Other machines joining the DX6307 and DX85R-7 models in the static area of the Develon stand will be the DX27Z-7 mini-excavator, DX100W-7 wheeled excavator, DL80TL-7 compact wheel loader, DX140LCR-7 crawler excavator, and DL280-7 wheel loader.

Equipped with an MG22 sorting grapple, the new 25-tonne DX250WMH-7 material handler has been designed for use in the waste, recycling, demolition, and forestry industries. Engineered to carry out the toughest tasks, the DX250WMH-7 is built with front and rear stabilizers, and a boom and arm specifically designed for material handling tasks.

For enhanced all-around visibility of the work area and attachment, the machine comes standard with a hydraulic cab riser. The material handler is easy to operate with ergonomic joysticks and a steering wheel, complemented by an optional foot pedal to control auxiliary attachments.

To meet Stage V engine emission regulations, the DX250WMH-7 is powered by a six-cylinder Develon DL06V water-cooled diesel engine, which provides 141kW (189hp) of power at 1,900 rev/min. Other Develon machines to be demonstrated at Plantworx 2023 will include the DL380-7wheel loader and DX225LC-7 crawler excavator.
