DEUTZ take on 43 new trainees

Company develops next generation of engineering and manufacturing talent

DEUTZ AG have welcomed 43 new trainees (aged 16-21 years-old) at their training centre in Cologne, Germany. The training being provided by the company will focus on roles, including production mechanics, industrial mechanics, machining mechanics, warehouse management specialists, electronic engineers and mechatronics engineers.

DEUTZ now have a total of 156 trainees in Germany as Dr Margarete Haase emphasized the need for a training concept that is in keeping with the times. ‘Training has a long tradition at DEUTZ. After all, we want to give young people the optimum basis for their careers,’ she commend.

‘This new generation of trainees also represents an important step forward for us as a company, because only if we consciously train our own successors will we know that we have done our best to prepare them for the challenges of the future.’

Martin Strecker, director of human resources at DEUTZ, added: ‘The proportion of mechatronics components and systems in production is rising steadily. We decided to introduce mechatronics as a training field so we can cover the overlap between electronics and mechanics, and train qualified experts in this area.’

Last year, the Cologne Chamber of Commerce and Industry nominated the DEUTZ training centre as one of the best in its class. The recognition also took into account the excellent examination results of the company’s trainees, which are regularly above the industry average.
