Conexpo-Con/Agg 2020: Terex Trucks to showcase TA300 and TA400 ADTs

Terex TA300 dumptruck

Manufacturer sharing stand space with Volvo CE, Volvo Trucks and SDLG to show wide range of construction equipment

AT Conexpo-Con/Agg 2020, visitors to the Terex Trucks stand will have the chance to get up close to the TA300 and TA400 articulated haulers and discover the significant investments and recent enhancements that have been made since the company was acquired by Volvo Construction Equipment in 2015.

Terex Trucks representatives will be on hand to discuss everything, from how the haulers can deliver low total cost of ownership to current/future product investments and why North America is a strong market for the business.

Paul Douglas, managing director of Terex Trucks, commented: ‘North America has always been a strong market for us, so we’re looking forward to meeting current and future customers from the region, as well as further afield, at the show. A significant proportion of the machines we make at our Motherwell facility, in Scotland, are distributed to customers across North America.

‘As a company, we want to grow our business in North America, reaching new customers and working with our expanding strong dealer network in the region – which currently stands at 40 dealers – to deliver an even better service.’
In the North America, the TA300 and TA400 machines are sold with a three-year warranty whilst telematics and planned maintenance are included as standard.

Since the beginning of 2019, the TA300 hauler model has been fitted with an upgraded transmission system – which comes with eight forward gears and four reverse gears – resulting in 5% improvement in fuel efficiency, as well as an increased maximum speed from 50km/h to 55km/h.

The 28-tonne TA300 articulated hauler comes with long life transmission fluid, which has helped to increase the length of time between oil maintenance intervals from 1,000h to 4,000h. The machine is also equipped with independent front suspension as standard, providing greater operator comfort and excellent traction control in the most challenging hauling conditions.

Thanks to these improvements on the TA300, operators can achieve faster cycle times, reduce the cost of operation per tonne and minimize their fuel consumption and carbon emissions.

The TA400, the largest articulated hauler on offer from Terex Trucks, has a maximum payload of 38 tonnes (41.9 tons) and a heaped capacity of 23.3 cubic metres. Powered by a high-performance, fuel-efficient engine that develops 444hp (331kW), the machine has been designed to meet the demands of the most extreme operations, such as quarries, mines and large-scale construction projects.

The truck’s planetary gear transmission provides smooth, efficient gear shifting for optimized fuel consumption and reduced operational costs. Ground level test points and a fully tilting cab, combined with an electronically raised hood, ensure ease of servicing/maintenance and maximum uptime.
