Change of officers at CEA

Nick Ground of GKD Technik appointed as president of Construction Equipment Association

AT the Construction Equipment Association’s annual general meeting earlier this month, Nick Ground, managing director of GKD Technik Ltd, was appointed as president.

He replaces Peter Howe, managing director of Komatsu UK Ltd, who has retired as president.

Commenting on his new appointment, Mr Ground said: ‘I have been an active member of the CEA for a number of years – and to be elected to the position of president is a great honour.

‘I believe I am also the first representative from a small niche supplier to fulfil this role, which shows that the CEA is not just an organization for big companies but has a place for everyone in our sector.

‘I am looking forward to building on the successes of the Association, and, in particular, to develop the CEA as a forum from which every member can benefit.’

In order to take up his new position, Mr Ground retired as first vice-president, a role that has now been filled by the appointment of former second vice-president Brian Heathcote, managing director of Terex Construction.

In turn, Mr Heathcote’s previous position has been filled by the appointment of Yvette Henshall-Bell, UK & Ireland sales director of JCB Sales Ltd, as second vice-president.

All the new officers will serve for a term of two years.
