Caterpillar to launch host of new machines at ConExpo 2014

Cat 982M wheel loader

More than a dozen new Cat products set to make their debut at the North American equipment show

CATERPILLAR will be presenting an unmatched line-up of machines, technology and services at ConExpo with the primary aim of helping customers to succeed.

Four Cat exhibit areas totalling around 60,000 sq ft of floor space – among the largest total display space at the show – will showcase more than 40 machines, many of which feature integrated technologies that will help operators, managers and owners get the most from each product, each hour of operation and during its lifecycle.

Caterpillar will also be displaying a variety of work tools, Tier 4 Final engines, components and service parts – all designed and manufactured to optimize the performance of Cat machines.

The newest Caterpillar products to be shown will include: F-Series excavators; M-Series medium wheel loaders; C-Series articulated trucks; G-Series off-highway rigid dumptrucks; a new track-type tractor; and a new wheeled tractor-scraper.

Also on show will be the 336F hybrid hydraulic excavator. The hybrid technology, proven to reduce fuel consumption by an average of 25% in Cat 336G H applications, is now incorporated in the refined 336F H model.

For miners and large earthmoving contractors, Caterpillar will be showcasing the largest of the new F-Series line – the 390F excavator model. The new M-Series wheel loader line will be represented by the 972M XE, which features an XE advanced powertrain that was first introduced on the 966K XE wheel loader.

According to Caterpillar, XE technology results in around 25% lower fuel consumption compared to machines with traditional torque converters. A brand new M-Series wheel loader model, the 982M (pictured), will also be displayed.

Other exhibits will include several models of the recently introduced Cat D-Series skid-steer loaders, compact tracked loaders and multi-terrain loaders. The compact machines feature a completely redesigned cab, a new lift-arm design for improved sight lines, and increased engine performance.

In addition to the machines, Caterpillar Product Support will be presenting a wide array of components, parts and services to keep machines running efficiently.
