"Johnston Roadstone Ltd have taken delivery of the first Caterpillar 345B LME excavator in specialized heavy-duty format, combined with a new Cat H160 CS hydraulic hammer, to be sold in the UK for face-loading operations at their Leinthall Quarry in Herefordshire. Purchased through Finning (UK) Ltd, the excavator is being used primarily to load two articulated dumptrucks that feed static crushing plants at a rate of 200 tonnes/h and a mobile crushing plant at a rate of 80 tonnes/h. The 17.8ha site processess 350,000–400,000 tonnes of calcarious gritstone each year, and Johnston Roadstone needed the machine in order to meet new production processes."
