Bobcat extend auger range

Bobcat have added two new augers – the 15H and 30H – to their existing range of 10, 15C and 30C models. Designed for mounting on Bobcat compact loaders, excavators and telehandlers, the 15H and 30H augers, unlike the 15C and 30C units which feature a combination output shaft accepting both round and hexagonal auger bits, come with hexagonal output shafts as standard.

According to Bobcat, the advantage of having this specification is an increase in robustness, making the latest augers suitable for heavy-duty applications.

All the current mounting frames and adapters, including quick-coupler adapters for the 15C and 30C augers, are fully compatible with the 15H and 30H models.

In addition, Bobcat extensions for the 15C and 30C, both extendable and fixed, can be used with the latest augers.

The company says its expanded range of augers, together with the wide selection of different types and sizes of auger attachments, will allow Bobcat tool carriers to drill holes with diameters from 152 to 915mm (6 to 36in), with speed and plumb-line accuracy.

Bobcat also claim that the enclosed direct-drive system on their augers offers better performance over the exposed chain/sprocket drive used on other designs. For example, having smaller drive housing on the augers allows the drive unit to penetrate further into the hole (using a 305mm bit or larger), thereby adding around 600mm more dig depth than standard drives.

Another key operational benefit of the extended Bobcat auger range is the increased torque output from the latest units, as the 15H and 30H models produce up to 2,644Nm and 5,126Nm of torque respectively.
