SKALA Australia appointed as BlueMAC distributor

SKALA Australasia appointed as exclusive distributor for Australia, New Zealand and Pacific Islands

BESPOKE materials recycling facility (MRF) manufacturing specialists BlueMAC have appointed SKALA Australasia Pty Ltd – equipment and solutions providers for the recycling, mining, bulk materials and industrial processing sectors – as their exclusive distributor for Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.

Established in 2012 and based in Newcastle, New South Wales, historically SKALA Australasia have delivered smaller recycling systems to their customers. But with enquiries and opportunities increasing in size and complexity, the decision was made to seek a specialist manufacturing partner that the SKALA team could work with to deliver larger projects.

SKALA co-founder Simon Toal said: ‘BlueMAC were ideal for several reasons. The company can design, engineer and supply complete systems of the capacity our market requires and, like us, is a young, proactive and growing business.

‘Being part of the UK’s Blue Group means they have hit the ground running with many successful installations already in the market. BlueMAC already have many systems which integrate with other SKALA brands and this allows us to really expand on the existing systems we have in Australia.

‘After the initial discussions and a period of approximately six months getting to understand each other’s business and the many opportunities, we are delighted to have entered into this exclusive agreement to represent and deliver BlueMAC’s portfolio to the Australasian region.’

Even at this early stage in the relationship, BlueMAC already have two plants in build for SKALA customers, and when these are commissioned later this year they will be two of Australia’s largest construction and demolition waste-processing facilities.

Blue Group chairman Pat McGeary commented: ‘The appointment of SKALA is a major step in BlueMAC entering the world stage. SKALA is a highly respected and successful company in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, and this partnership between BlueMAC and SKALA will bring additional knowledge and experience to the recycling industry.’
