Essex Bulk Services order specially designed tanks from Tankquip to fulfil Tarmac mortar contract
PICTURED above is one of 16 tanks ordered by Essex Bulk Services, through Tankquip, to fulfil the Tarmac mortars contract they won against stiff competition. Designed especially for this task, the tanks have a 31m3 capacity and feature a compact footprint with lift-up axles front and rear to maximize manoeuvrability and minimize tyre wear.
The specially built tanks replace rigid multi-wheelers and provide both productivity and environmental benefits. The gain in payload reduces road miles significantly for Tarmac and Essex Bulk Services, reducing traffic congestion and the carbon footprint of both companies.
All the latest FORS requirements are included on the tanks, eg cyclist ‘keep clear’ signs and Brigade left-turn indicator alarms. Operator safety during loading and unloading is also fully recognized with an emergency stop system that depressurizes the tank and cuts off material flow.
